If you believe you're a victim of identity theft or fraud, we suggest contacting the credit bureau Equifax and Transunion for further assistance so you can place an alert on your file. Placing an alert on your file with Equifax and Transunion will alert you to key changes to your credit to help you detect and protect against potential fraud.
You can reach Equifax at 1-866-828-5961.
You can reach TranUnion at https://www.transunion.ca/customer-support/contact-us.
If you don't have a Borrowell account but you're seeing soft inquiries made by Borrowell, we suggest contacting Equifax to open a fraud investigation. Once you've opened an investigation with Equifax, Borrowell will wait for the documentation. When the documentation is received we can help to locate and close any fraudulent accounts.
If you'd like to have us close the account right away, contact us with your information (name, date of birth, and address). Reaching out to us is optional as once we receive the fraud documentation from Equifax, your name, date of birth, and address will be provided to us by Equifax and we will automatically deactivate the account at that time.
