How will Rent Advantage appear on my credit report?

  • Updated

All Rent Advantage services will appear on your credit report under the designation  BRWL SELF-RPT RENT

Monthly rent reporting will appear on your credit report as an open credit account. Open credit refers to credit accounts that require full payment each month, similar to how a cell phone bill is managed. This means that your timely rent payments will be documented as a part of your credit history, which can help in building your credit score over time.

Past rent payments will be reflected as a closed credit account on your credit report within 60 days from when the payment history is displayed on your report.

If you enrolled in Rent Reporting Plus, which includes both monthly rent reporting and past rent reporting, the tradeline will appear as an open credit account on your credit report until you cancel the service.
